The Rush voters have spoken, and here's the results:
You can see all the results here. The certified results won't be in for awhile, but here's the 2019 midterm results:
Mid year elections don't seem to make people get off the couch, although Rush did a tiny bit better in the participation rate. 1,438 people voted for Town Supervisor in 2019. This time Gerry beat Phyllis by 24 votes - 731 to 707. Last time in 2019 Gerry got 717 and Phyllis got 707, a difference of 10 votes. That's 1,451 votes for Supervisor this time, which is 13 more people voting.
So the next board will be Gerry, Amber, Dan, Dan and Jeanne. The weather report for the coming board season is for a sleepy time with little change. This is what the people (who voted) want, and that's how it should be.
With closer to 3,000 people in town who probably can vote, it would be nice to see a bigger turn out next time. Let's hope for the best in the future.
